WORLD BOOK DAY
Thursday 7th March
World Book Day 2024 is fast approaching on Thursday 7th March and we are really excited to share this special day with you and your children. We have a few different events going on for you to be involved with.
The theme of our day is ‘Get comfy and read’. The children can either wear a costume as a book character or come in comfy clothes for the day – they may even want to bring a blanket.
Parent reading - we will be having sessions where you can come and read with your child in school. This will be from 9-9.30am and again from 2.30-3pm. You can come in for as long as you want between these times to spend time with your child in the classroom reading. Parents who came last year said these were great sessions to be involved in.
Book swap – After the great success of last year, we are going to run this again. Children can bring in a book from home that they no longer want. They will then be able to choose a different ‘new’ book to take home.
'Dress a potato' competition – This year we will be holding a competition with prizes for key stage 1 and key stage 2. The children need to dress a potato as their favourite book character. These should be bought in on Thursday 7th March for the competition. Hopefully this will inspire the children to be creative and imaginative.
I am sure this will be a really fun day for everyone involved!
Thank you
